This summer, Pyramid of Enlightenment is inviting our community to join us for a little bit of fun, a little bit of reflection, and a whole lot of shared light.

Beginning on the Summer Solstice, Sunday, June 21, 2026, and continuing through Wednesday, July 29, 2026, we’ll be moving our little “Buddha on a Journey” statue throughout the store. Each day, he may appear in a new place, waiting to be discovered.

Think of it as a peaceful, summertime version of Elf on a Shelf — except instead of holiday mischief, this journey is about presence, joy, discovery, and sharing light with the world.

How It Works

When you visit Pyramid of Enlightenment, look around the store and see if you can find Buddha on a Journey.

When you find him, take a picture and share it on Facebook or Instagram. Be sure to tag Pyramid of Enlightenment, set your post to public, and show your post to us at the front desk.

Then you’ll be able to choose A Little Bag of Treasures as our gift to you.

Each surprise bag is filled with treats and a little extra magic — just a small way for us to say thank you for participating and helping us spread the light.

One gift per person per day while supplies last. Post must be set to public.

Why We’re Beginning on the Summer Solstice

The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year — the day when sunlight reaches its fullest expression in the Northern Hemisphere.

For us, this felt like the perfect time to begin a journey centered around light.

The solstice reminds us to pause, notice what is growing, and honor the warmth, brightness, and life force that surrounds us. It is a natural doorway into reflection, celebration, and renewal.

By beginning Buddha’s journey on the Summer Solstice, we are starting with a simple intention:

May we notice the light.
May we share the light.
May we remember that even small moments of joy can brighten the world around us.

Why We’re Ending on July 29, 2026

Our journey will end on July 29, 2026, the day known in many Buddhist traditions as Asalha Puja or Dharma Day.

This day honors the moment after the Buddha’s enlightenment when he first shared his teachings with others. In that first teaching, he began offering the wisdom that would become the foundation of Buddhism.

In a symbolic sense, this was the moment the light he had discovered within himself began to move outward into the world.

That is why this date felt so meaningful for the end of our storewide journey. We are beginning with the fullness of sunlight at the Summer Solstice and ending with a day that honors the sharing of spiritual light, wisdom, and understanding.

The Journey of Light

“Buddha on a Journey” is meant to be simple and fun, but it also carries a deeper meaning.

Sometimes light shows up in big, life-changing ways.

Sometimes it shows up as a smile, a moment of stillness, a thoughtful conversation, a meaningful sign, or a tiny statue tucked somewhere unexpected.

This journey is an invitation to look closer, notice, play, pause, and to share something uplifting.

Every photo shared becomes part of a larger ripple — one small moment of light passed from person to person.

And that is what Pyramid of Enlightenment has always been about: helping people discover, remember, and share the light within themselves.
